soapbox!—student thesis
soapbox! collects anonymous testimonials and essays from various people in the Asian Diaspora about how inherited trauma has impacted them and their mental health. Creating a publication of memoirs from fellow Asian Canadians will allow people in the Asian Diaspora to find solidarity within each other’s experiences regarding intergenerational trauma.
The primary deliverable is a printed publication containing approximately 66 pages, with three chapters that are delegated into different topics—body image, depression, and anxiety.
The second deliverable is a social media strategy that would accompany the memoirs to serve as a social/informative hub for spreading awareness and resources, as well as promoting the publication.
